Enjoy an excursion through the Sonoran Desert in a Classic Hummer H1. The Hummer will pick up our guests at the resort and take them 4 x 4 wheeling in the desert. The very knowledgeable guides will teach our guests all about the wildlife and plant life which makes Arizona's desert so unique. Depending on the type of tour booked, the duration of the tour is between 4-7 hours. |
Jeep Tours |
Sit back and relax on a tour of the living desert and learn about the cacti in the Wild West. Jeep tours include transportation from the resort, nature walks and 4 x 4 wheeling in the magnificent Tonto National Forest located just north of Scottsdale. The duration of the tour is 3 hours. |
Hot Air Balloon |
Enjoy the miraculous sunrises and sunsets that the desert provides from a Hot Air Balloon. The 360-degree views are completely unobstructed and perfect for taking photographs of the desert. The sunrise tours are complimented by a champagne breakfast. The sunset tours are complimented by champagne and hors d'oeuvres. The duration of the tour is 4 hours. |
Horseback Riding |
Come to the Wild West and commute the way the cowboys used to. We can offer horseback riding for every guest. From 1300 acre ranches to trail rides we can accommodate your experience level. English or Western riding is available as well. The duration of each tour varies. |
Mountain Biking |
Arizona's beautiful Sonoran Desert is the home to some of the most unique and adventurous mountain biking experiences. We are able to arrange bike rentals at a discount and recommend nearby trails. The bike rentals can be dropped off and picked up right here at the resort for our guest's convenience. We can also arrange for guided Mountain Biking tours through the McDowell Mountain Range with experienced and very knowledgeable guides. The duration of each tour varies. |

Numerous breathtaking and expansive views of the valley can be seen from any of the astonishing Mountain tops in Scottsdale and surrounding areas. The Concierge can recommend the best trail to meet your skill level and excitement expectation for the desert trails. There are also guided tours available. The duration of each tour varies. The most popular hike is Camelback mountain, and is only 5 miles away. |
Enterprise |
The Scottsdale Resort & Athletic Club is a proud partner of Enterprise Rental Car. Our Concierge is happy to arrange for a rental car to pick up at the airport with a discounted rate. Our Concierge is also able to rent Enterprise vehicles right at the Concierge Desk. With notice, the vehicle is dropped off right to the resort for the convenience of our guests. The Enterprise vehicle can also be returned to the Concierge Desk, Phoenix International Airport or The Scottsdale Airpark for a minimal fee. Please call or e-mail the Concierge for a quote. Tempe Beach Park |
Visitors to Tempe Town Lake can experience a small storm, even when the weather is sunny and warm. Splash Playground at Tempe Beach Park lets children cool off and have fun at Tempe Town Lake. The one-acre playground teaches how a drop of rain falls from the sky and ends up either in the ocean or becomes part of the city water supply. The entrance to the playground is a metal circle of clouds that rains a light mist of water onto visitors. Thunder claps and lightning flashes. Every Thursday in Old Town Scottsdale is the Art Walk. It is a wonderful way to spend the evening strolling and enjoying the weather or searching for the perfect souvenir. The galleries that are normally only open during the day re-open from 7pm - 9pm along the well known street Marshall Way for the Scottsdale Art Walk. |
Native Trails |
January thru April (contact concierge for specific dates) This is a unique performance put on by the Yavapai Nation. Native Trails is a lunchtime experience that includes traditional music, tribal dance, Native American food and art. This is a wonderful way to experience Native American culture first hand in the center of Scottsdale. |
Heard Museum |
The Heard Museum showcases the culture and arts of Native Americans within the Southwest. The museum is world renowned for its collection of kachina dolls which are religious artifacts that represent the gods of the Hopis. |
